Today was a pretty busy day. The
morning started out not too cold, and I managed to get out working
on the decorations before 11am. I managed to get quite a
bit done today, along with some much appreciated help from my wife.
The first thing I worked on
was the "NOEL" sign and rope light trees at the left end of the house.
Last year we put the inflatable dog with puppy & gift under the
NOEL. This year we have a rope light nativity scene we
put in the same place, along with one animated angel (the
second one will be out soon!).
After finishing the
NOEL Nativity, I moved on to installing our one new inflatable, the
Christmas Tree. placed this along the blow
mold nativity, next to the inner shrubs. This inflatable includes 35
miniature lights with C-9 style covers.
I put the old swag lights from
under the upstairs windows on the top of the garage door frame.
The old swag lights were falling apart, the plastic clips were
suffering from ultraviolet exposure brittleness. This year
we picked up a fourth windsock, the penguin. Like the other
three, I had to install the lights myself.
I thought
we needed a closer picture of these illuminated spring
form windsocks. They are so cute!
After the front of the garage, I broke into the wire
frames strored in the trailer. I put the two swiirl trees out
behind the blow mold nativity, under the cherrry tree, completing
that area, I think. The picture on the left was taken with flash
to show the falling snow and enhance the snow on everything.
The latest addition to the front lawn is the animated
skiing santa and rocking horse. Both are rope light wire frames.
I tried to get two pictures showing both images of santa, just
imagine flipping back and forth between the two images to simulate
santa skiing.
The
last item to be put up tonight was the last of the two wire frame
arches. This one was also in 100% working order right
out of the box! After that, I wrapped the small topiary trees
on the porch with blue pearl lights.
Total
Lights: 24,649.
