November 25 - Thanksgiving Day
Weather:
Rain Showers, Turning Colder with Snow Showers Later.
Temperatures:
Morning High in the upper 40's, Afternoon Falling to the 30's
This picture was taken about 9am Thanksgiving morning.
As you can see, the driveway is wet from the rain showers, and you
can also still see our remaining Halloween decorations on the
house and the maple tree that have to bee removed before we can start
with the Christmas decorating.
Unfortunately, I am
still trying to get over a cold, so I really shouldn't be out in the
rain, and Marianne keeps reminding me of that all day long.
However, between 10am and 1pm, I do manage to take down the remaining
Halloween decorations on the maple tree and the lights on
the shrubs in front of the house. I didn't to the house
trim lights or the icicle lights, but will do those when I have
the big ladder out and am putting up the Christmas lights in the same
spots. I take down a stretch of Halloween lights, put up a stretch
of Christmas lights, and then move the ladder.....
About 1pm, I
started preparing the trim lights and icicle lights for
the house, and since the green lights had lost a lot of their color,
and about 3/4 of them did not work, we decided to run down to
Walmart to get some new strings of solid red and solid
green lights. By the time we got back, it was time to start
getting dinner ready. Since it was just the two of us for dinner,
we didn't eat until 7pm, andbetween putting the turkey in the
oven and eating dinner, I decided I had enough wet & rainy
wather for the day, and took the rest of the day off.
Therefore, we got no lights up for Christmas on Thanksgiving Day.
(First time that has happened in over 8 years!)
Total Lights
at End of Day: ZERO!
